Shriya Saran has not had a release recently in Tamil and with her her movie with finally set to hit screens, the actress will have something to look forward to.

 

Shriya Saran seems to be in a mood to help. After starting a spa in Mumbai's Lokhandwala which has all visually challenged employees, she is now all set to go around Andhra Pradesh to promote talent among slum kids.

The actress is the brand ambassador of an NGO that plans to conduct talent hunts for slum kids and youngsters across major metros in the state. Shriya and the NGO will reach out to over 1 lakh kids and select the best amongst them and support them financially. 

Shriya Saran's oomphy image is so overpowering that it almost overshadows the consistent work she has been doing in film industries across the country in six languages.

The actress was recently honoured with an award for her contribution to Telugu cinema, but it's her link-ups that make headlines.

In fact, we too couldn't resist asking what's really up with her and RaNa? "The media started it all. I've known him since he was in school. I've known him and his family for more than eight years. I respect the family. RaNa and I are not dating."

Ask her about the award and she says, "I am humbled by the honour because filmmaking is a team effort. I always make it a point to thank all those great scriptwriters who create the characters actors play; then, there are directors and cameramen who bring the character to life and it's left to the actors to put soul into the character."

Actress Shriya is smiling and there's a sense of calmness in her these days, that's the kind of effect yoga and vipaasana meditation has on her.

And this probably explains why the actress was surprised when we asked her if she was miffed with the way her role turned out in the recently-released Chikku Bhukku, as some reports suggested. 

Stated the actress, "Why should I be unhappy or upset? I saw the movie and I'm happy with it. I have no hard feelings!" 

Meanwhile, Shriya is now in Chennai to shoot for her next film Rowthiram with Jiiva. "I have started shooting for the film from yesterday and I think the shoot will go on until the end of this month," she reveals. 
It looks like Shriya, who has just returned from Dubai after shooting for Casanova with Mammootty, has a jam-packed calendar this month.

Trisha who is currently shooting for Khatta Meeta with Akshay kumar in a Bollywood movie is very busy and had problem with the dates. As per the film Nagar sources, Trisha walked out of the Ravi Teja's project Don Seenu due to her tight schedule. This had made the makers to rope Shriya for the movie. If everything goes well, the movie will be the biggest comeback to shriya in Tollywood.

Last week Shriya Saran flew down to Chennai for the premiere of her latest releaseJaggubhai. Naturally, she was pepped up and was the cynosure of all eyes at the star-studded premiere, held at a popular multiplex.

So, how was the experience? “It was wonderful. I was staying with many others in a camp and that too, in the middle of a jungle. I used to wake up early in the morning and practise all forms of asanas,” she says. According to the pretty lass, yoga and meditation keep her going. “Yoga keeps my mind fresh, and pumps the muchneeded energy into me. It also helps me relieve tension,” she says. The knowledge she gained from the workshop, we are sure, will come in handy for this pretty lass, who has her kitty full in Kollywood.

She’s amazed at the way Deepa can convince her actor to do any role, and give their best.

After a long hiatus, Shriya Saran’s going to be back in Tollywood with a bilingual film Pista. She is paired opposite Vishal in this love story laced with action. The actress had a really good innings in Tollywood before with hits like Tagore, Santhosham and Chatrapathi and was racing towards the top slot, but duds like Subhas Chandra Bose and Bhageeratha shattered her big dreams. Slowly, she gravitated to Tamil and Hindi films to keep herself busy. Right now, she’s also doing a Deepa Mehta film and is looking out for Telugu filmswith good scripts. “After a long gap I was shooting in Hyderabad recently and I am pleasantly surprised by the way the city has shaped up. Mallanna, the latest extravagant socio-fantasy flick starring Vikram and Shriya Saran, is being shot at a guest house in Hyderabad. Directed by Susi Ganesh and produced by Kalaipuli Thanu under Kalaipuli International banner, Super Star Krishna is playing a pivotal role in the movie. Presently, some scenes are being shot on Shriya, Vikram and Asish Vidyarthi at the Devi Home guest house, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The film is being made as a bilingual; the Tamil version is titled Kanthaswamy. According to the script, Vikram sports different get-ups in the film and also changes his body language to suit each character. It is learnt that he would appear with a lean body in some avataars while being well-built in others. Shriya will also be seen in different get-ups with Vikram. Delhi girl Shriya Saran loves the rain.When we told her that it had been raining in Delhi and the weather was quite pleasant, she fondly reminisced about her Delhi days. “I love the rains. Rain makes me happy,” she said. “I’m in Mumbai, though, working and chilling out. I’m also catching up on reading – currently, I’m reading Catch 22,” she said.

Its the most important question that Sarath Kumar and director K.S Ravikumar are asking now. Sarath Kumar plays dual role in the movie, that of a elder and younger character. Shriya Saran has already been signed for the role of daughter of the elder Sarath Kumar. Kollywood seems to be getting high on remakes.The latest buzz doing rounds in the industry is that Shriya has replaced Trisha for the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster Jab We Met. Initially, Trisha was supposed to play the role enacted by Kareena Kapoor in the original. Jab We Met was a big hit in Hindi which featured Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles. I call it an arranged marriage. I fell in love with films after I got into the business. I was grooming to be a Kathak dancer when I landed in a music video. That’s how it began,” she says. On the Hollywood front, Shriya has wrapped up Ashok Amritraj’s The Other End of the Line opposite Canadian actor Jesse Metcalfe. And how has Deepa Mehta’s What’s Cooking to look forward to. 

Now that she is in Bollywood, Shriya’s big ambition is to star opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She revealed, “I met him as a fan when I was about 11 and took his autograph. He was shooting in Udaipur for Khuda Gawah. Recently, I met him at an award function in Bangkok and told him that. He was amused. I told Mr Bachchan, ‘I want to work with you.’ And he replied, ‘I’m looking forward to it!’” But she doesn’t really have any favourites in Bollywood. “I am greedy. I want to work with everyone,” Shriya admits candidly.

“I’M exhausted working for Mallanna,” declares Shriya when. “Most of my films don’t take more than a month to complete. I like to work at one stretch and be done with it. I don’t like to carry on that association for too long. But with Kandasamy, I’m losing the connection because it’s been in production for more than a year,” she says. Why hasn’t she done anything big after Sivaji? “I’d love to do more Sivajis, but such films can’t be made often. I’ll be at my peak when I play more roles like Tamil Selvi,” she says.

When asked about her friends form film industry, “Trisha’s a sweetheart. Dhanush is a prankster, but fun. Reema Sen comes to Mumbai often, so we meet up. I admire Asin’s work. Nagarjuna and Tarak are in touch regularly,” she laughs. She agrees that can’t have too many friends because she finds the term overrated. “You can be friendly with people and go out for coffee with them. That’s it,” adds Shriya. Shriya, is sizzling on the cover of a men’s mag in a bikini. Another Mallika in the making? “I’ll never shy away from taking risks because you can’t get stereotyped. But I’ll never wear a bikini on screen unless it’s a Yash Raj film. You never know how you’ll be portrayed by others,” says the actress.

Recently Shriya openly disclosed that she has become vexed with love scenes and kiss scenes. She disclosed this news to the media recently and also said that she is getting bored of doing the same love scenes again and again. May be Shriya is getting bored of love scenes on reel and wants the same raunchy and kinky scenes in her real life.

She says that she is single and she is happy being single. “ It’s awesome to be single. You can party; you can flirt and have so much fun,” laughs Shriya. Well, what kind of guy will you fall for? “I like guys who have made on their own and are completely passionate about what they do in life. If anyone tells me about the huge business empire that you have inherited from your dad that’s a turn-off,” said Shriya.

During initial career of shriya,Producers and directors liked her for her liberal attitude towards dressing and her co-operation for dates. But now She is a big star and things turned around.Now Shriya surprised everyone by packing her luggage after 40 days of shoot, where the schedule plan is for 60 days in Mexico.

Shriya could not hear the requests of director and producer of the film Mallanna. Finally, theschedule also packed. Now, the director is behind Shriya to complete the patch up work. Shriya has been going places. But wherever she goes, she makes sure she sticks to her health plan – drinking five litres of water everyday! She claims this gives her perfect health, keeps her skin supple and promotes her complexion as well. She says that it is very important for actors to drink plenty of water given the fact that they spend too much time under arclights or the sun.
Shriya says apart from this, a good sunscreen is very important for an actor. And except for a nourishing cream at bedtime, she does not do much for her skin.
