Anushka as Mahesh Babu's Vadina!
Samantha was roped in to cast opposite mahesh babu and for venkatesh, Anushka seemed to have said OK. Earlier makers of the film went for Trisha, Sneha, Bhoomika but finally Anushka has given a nod to cast opposite venkatesh.
Anushka will be seen in Vadina's character for Mahesh babu. Earlier both acted together in Khaleja and everyone commented that Anushka is looking older than Maheshbabu.

The reason for trisha to say no to this project is, if trisha acts opposite to venkatesh in this movie, she has to play the role of vadina to Mahesh babu. The movie first show was finished in kuwait yesterday night and later Kadapa show was finished. Here is the mini review of the movie:
- First Half of the film is OK, but second half of the film is boring in parts.
- Emotional scenes has not worked well in second half.
- Sr. NTR will be shown as PM in the film.
- Prakash Raj is the father of Mahesh babu who will be in coma.
- First Half of Dookudu is better than Second Half.
Dhookudu Censor report
As per the censor report, Dhookudu will be a comedy entertainer and its a complete srinu vaitla movie with lots of shades from King and Ready. Comedy will be there from start to end in the film.
Censor board appreciated srinu vaitla for making a good comedy entertainer and chances are high for the movie to become a super hit.
But censor board requested another print of Dhookudu until tomorrow, since the copy submitted was of bad quality. If censor board doesn't approve tomorrow, the chances are low for the movie to hit screens on 23rd september.

With the recent big budget films failing to set the Box Office on fire, Tollywood is yearning for a big hit and so is superstar Mahesh Babu. Not surprising the spotlight is now on Mahesh Babu's " Dookudu" which will hit the screens on September 23. Anil Sunkara, one of the producers of the film, confirms the release date and says, "We are going to release the film in a grand way." "I am excited and looking forward to the release of the film," says a beaming Mahesh Babu at the film's promotional function. The superstar is hoping the film works wonder at the BO as it has been almost five years since his last hit, "Pokiri" released. Director Sreenu Vytla informs that Mahesh Babu has worked hard for the film and says "Dookudu" is one of his career's bigger films. Mahesh Babu's Dhookudu Shooting at RFC!Mahesh babu's Dhookudu movie shooting is currently taking place at Ramoji film city in hyderabad. Samantha is doing the love interest of Mahesh babu in this film. Srinu vaitla is directing this flick.
Mahesh babu is playing the role of sincere cop in this film. The movie will be comedy cum action entertainer. The movie shooting took place in istanbul and other arab countries. A source close to Anushka confirmed the news and said, "Yes, Sweety (as she is known) has signed Mani sir's epic classic and is thrilled to do it. She has allotted bulk dates for the project. She has to complete two Telugu projects in the next four to five months, and then join Ponniyin Selvan, where she will sport an all-new look."
Initially, there was talk that Vikram, Vijay and Suriya would do the project, but that fell through. A source close to the development said, "Even Mani sir found it difficult to bring them together for a joint narration to hear the script, leave alone doing a full-fledged film! As of now, Vijay, Arya and Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu have agreed to do the film." The grapevine has it that while Vijay will play the courageous warrior Vallavarayan Vandiyatheyan, Mahesh Babu is likely to play King Aditha Karikalan. The role of Arulmozhi Varman (who later becomes Raja Raja Chozha), which was initially slated to be done by Vikram, will now be played by Arya.Mahesh babu will be working in Mani ratnam's new movie. Dookudu Story is as follows:
Mahesh babu is playing the role of police officer in the role. A mafia leader escapes from the mahesh babu and higher officials orders mahesh babu to catch him in 10 days. Mahesh babu goes to turkey to catch him and he falls in love with samantha there. You can watch the rest of the story on the silver screen. There will be also a nice twist in the story.
Even the contrasting roles that she is doing couldn't scale down her spirits. "The roles are divergent, but I was able to handle them with ease as I am now more experienced. Earlier I used to get obsessed with my roles and suffered hangover issues. Now I think I have evolved as an actress," she quips.
Interestingly, she also discovered that her co-stars-NTR Jr and Rana are "two distinct personalities". "NTR is subdued and pre-occupied with his role, whereas Rana is rocking, jocular and talkative. We had a blast," she says.
Since she's a hot contender for the top slot, is she working hard to attain the numero uno position once again? "I have no such intentions since I want to relax and enjoy my work, rather than wasting time on number games. I had my share of moments at the top but once you attain it, insecurity gradually creeps in. So, it's better to give 100 percent to your work and leave the rest to destiny," she reasons. Doesn't her huge pay packet (`1.2 crore), indicate her supremacy over her colleagues? "I don't know, what others are drawing, so I prefer to avoid comparisons. Though I can't discuss about my remuneration, I am paid, what I deserve," she says, emphatically.
The leading actress is excited about reprising the role of B-town hottie Kareena in the Tamil-Telugu remake of "3 Idiots" but is reluctant to draw any inspiration. "I don't want to be a copycat of Kareena Kapoor. Inspite of watching the Hindi version twice, I want to do it in my own way without any influence. Every actress has her own distinct style, so I'll deliver my version," she points out.
She is on cloud nine for the opportunity to work with superstar Mahesh Babu and ace director Shankar. "It's like a double bonanza. When I shared screen space with Mahesh in "Pokiri", I was shy and subdued but now I think, I'll have better interaction with him. Working withShankar is like a dream come true and definitely one of the reasons for me to take up my maiden Tamil film. I was getting Tamil offers, for quite some time, but I think this will be ideal launch vehicle for me," she avers. Besides her K-town debut, she was discussing a few B-town offers, to expand her horizons beyond Andhra region. "A couple of discussions happened but nothing is fixed. Only a plum offer can beckon me to Bollywood," she says. Can't she divulge more details about the B-town offers? "I am superstitious in this regard. Earlier, a couple of offers fell through as I disclosed them before signing on the dotted line, so its like once bitten twice shy," she smiles.
She has a new boy in her life, now don't get it wrong, we are just talking about her months-old nephew. "He is so cute and bubbly," she says and on her single status, "Who said I am single?" she shoots back but later clarifies, "I have enormous family support and I never felt the need for another shoulder to lean on. It's great being single and independent."
Mahesh babu who excelled in acting comical scenes in Khaleja, is all set to entertain audience once again with his new movie Dookudu.
